Left the Casa as the sun was coming up. Thank goodness we had done just under a kilometer and realized we had left our walking poles behind! We had put them in the hatstand when we arrived and , Edmund went back to collected them. An extra 1,5km added to his Camino!
A quick walk out of town and then it was into the eucalyptus forests. So blessed to have the shade of these beautiful trees for about 7 Kms. And then the heat hit! 40° for the balance of our walk, which was through some small towns with no shade whatsoever.
We arrived in the historical town of Tomar. Our accommodation we stayed at was Conde de Ferreira Palace, a historical house which has been in the family for 7 generations. We dropped our bags and did a bit of walking through the old town.
Used the App, HappyCow and found Ambriga da Alma to have a late lunch . They are not a vegan restaurant, but have vegan options. The food was outstanding.
