Linda and Edmund Bovijn's journey and passion for trees began in South Africa, where they were born and lived for the majority of their lives thus far. Their love for walking is rooted deeply in the Drakensburg mountains, and has been a fundamental part of their deepening love and connection with nature, and passion for change.
In 2018, Linda and Edmund walked the Camino de Santiago from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago, Spain. Self funded and unguided, they walked a distance of approximately 675km - carrying all of their possessions. They raised funds in support of the NPO, GreenpopSA - who are on a mission to plant trees, green communities and empower environmental stewards. Their journey lead them to Portugal - where they are now living and embracing the long, magnificent trails that Europe has to offer. In the near future, they will be walking the Camino de Frances from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Their love for the environment, frustration for deforestation, and passion for making a difference are the driving forces and roots in which Footsteps 4 the Future has grown from.
