DAY 5 AZINHAGA - ATALAIA

2/9/2018

Left the Auberge At around 7am in the cool of the morning, and were welcomed by beautiful rising sun. Our 7 km walk to Golegã was challenging along the busy country road, as there was little to no verge at all!

It was so worth it! Golegã is a delight and a beautiful horsey set town. Utterly charming. I managed to find a very helpful chemist, who spoke a bit of English and more blister plasters and silicone shoe inserts were bought.

Our breakfast at Cafe Central delivered the surprise, Edmund declared them the second best (after Pasties de Belém ) pastel de Nata’s!!

Our shorter walk of 18.5km today due to my blister challenges, ensured a leisurely and pleasant walk, and we were grateful to get to Atalaia around 2 pm as the temps spiked to over 36°C
